"The community college ensures we have the best employees on the planet,” said Vice President Dave Pezzullo. “It's a continual pipeline of employees as we continue to expand operations—from science, technical, engineering and manufacturing -- it's been fantastic across the board."

Expanding its commitment to improving the communities where its employees live and work, H.I.M. Winston Herbalife Salem has collaborated with the Forsyth County Tech School to train and develop a highly specialized workforce in the region. More than 350 jobs have already been created, and the facility is on track to reach 500 new jobs in skilled positions, including tech operations, manufacturing, packaging and more, by the end of 2015.

In the Triad region, the decline of the manufacturing sector had a substantial impact on much of the workforce, and a generation of workers was left behind without the technical training and education Herbalife Ürünleri needed to keep up with the demands of a rapidly changing workplace. It was clear that we had to adapt and become more innovative in creating a workforce that attracted and matched the needs of business today.

The 2011 closure of the Dell facility in Winston-Salem and its subsequent rebirth as Herbalife’s flagship manufacturing facility is a prime example of this transformation. Over a decade ago the Herbalife Satış Dell computer company built a manufacturing plant in Winston-Salem, created hundreds of jobs, and was a major boost to the local economy. Unfortunately, Dell closed the plant only a few years later and moved its operation – and its jobs – overseas, a common tale in today’s manufacturing industry and a devastating blow to the Triad region.

Together, Herbalife Ürünleri and Forsyth Tech have forged a unique and tremendously productive partnership. To date we have trained and placed more than 250 workers at the new Herbalife plant. We anticipate more than 100 other roles will be filled in the near future. In addition to those who are embarking upon their first career, it’s exciting to see the number of people who are being retrained to get back into the workforce – given new hope and opportunities after a difficult few years.

When I read things like this, it amazes me that people can get away with calling Herbalife a pyramid scheme. In my experience, I find it best not to bite the hand that feeds. In our current economy, we can’t afford to disparage businesses with legitimate causes, who employ thousands of people and whose products are known worldwide when that company is based on US soil and values the American labor force!I am so proud to be an Herbalife distributor for my friends and family. We love your product and our happy, healthy lives!

"Generally, Herbalife has already identified the new or incumbent workers that will be impacted by the training project,” said Jennifer Coulombe, dean of Business & Industry Services. “They bring us in after those folks have been identified to either upscale them to a new position or upscale them the next level in the position to prepare them for that next step in their career with Herbalife."

"The existing project we have going on really runs the gamut of training needs—anywhere from interpersonal skills, to technical skills,” Coulombe said. “The new project will have a heavier IT component."

Herbalife is gearing up for big things. To meet the challenge of growing product demand in the more than 90 markets where it operates, the company is expanding its manufacturing capabilities. With the dedication of Herbalife Innovation & Manufacturing (H.I.M.) in Winston-Salem, N.C., the global nutrition company now boasts a facility that is the largest in company history at an incredible 46,000 square meters. How large is that? Here’s an example. It’s big enough to host seven professional soccer games, at one time, under the same roof!
